

Saturio was born in Cuba in 1922 and was the oldest of four children of Pilar and Saturio Rocio Sr. He studied at the Seminary in Cuba and afterwards continued his studies at the University of La Habana and later at NYU. He went on to get Doctorate Degrees in Philosophy, Commercial Sciences and Spanish.
He left Cuba with his family in 1961, fleeing a communist dictatorship ,and settled in Queens, New York .He worked for Hogan & Company, a sugar brokerage firm for 33 years as Comptroller but his true love was teaching and he taught Spanish part time for many years.
The family traveled to all 50 states and throughout Europe and he and his wife, Gloria enjoyed many years of worldwide travel.
His wife of 60 years, Gloria; his daughter, Lourdes and son in law Phil Eckstein. His younger daughter, Marilyn and her husband Ray Merola and his son,
Javier Rocio and his wife Liz and his grandchildren that he so lovingly doted on: Tara, Corinne, Kimmie,Alena,Sarah,Alex,Nicky and Matt.
A Mass in Celebration of His Life will be offered at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton, Ct. on Saturday, December 1st at 10:30 AM.
