Born in Magoula, Sparti Greece, he was the son of Stavros Koutsovitis and Eleni Floros. Stavros is predeceased by his beloved wife Vasiliki Koutsovitis and survived by his son Christopher Koutsovitis. Stavros and Vasiliki courted in Greece and immigrated together to the US taking the then long journey by ship to New York. They were married in New York City and settled in Stamford, CT where they raised their son Christopher. Stavros was grateful for the opportunities the US gave to him and his family. He was a proud American citizen and never missed voting in an election.
Stavros was a loving son to his mother Eleni, devoted husband to Vasiliki, proud father of Christopher and was given the honorary title of favorite uncle by his nieces and nephews. He was an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Stamford and will be remembered for his no nonsense grilling skills at church bazaars. Stavros loved his neighbors like family. He could often be seen mowing their lawns, cleaning gutters, feeding pets or sharing his prized tomatoes or a beer with his neighborhood family. Stavros was a kind and true gentleman who greatly valued family and his friendships. Above all, he will be most remembered as a man guided by love for others in all that he did.
The visitation, service and burial will be private for family and close friends.
