

Sydney McArthur Daniel died, 86, at his home on December 23, 2016. He was born on April 4, 1930 to the late Fitz and Esmeralda Daniel, in St. Philip, Barbados.He later met and married his beloved, beautiful wife, June Daniel. He was a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Stamford, Connecticut. During the mid-1950's he served in the Air Force for four years. He leaves to mourn, a loving wife of sixty years, four loving children and two grandchildren. He leaves to mourn one brother Norman Daniel of Barbados, a sister, Lorna Lashley of Connecticut and a host of friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by two sisters Eveleria Lorraine Dottin, Lucille King and a brother, Herbert Daniel.He has faithfully, dedicated his life to providing for his family. He worked many years at Norman Hoffman Bearings Company and later at Dun & Bradstreet, from which he retired. He also worked part time as a security guard. Sydney served on and was a devoted member of the River Haven Coop Board of Directors.He was a man with honest rapport and disciplined worth ethic.Sydney will be remembered for his sense of humor, his work ethic, his patience and his attitude of not worrying about anything. He had a strong belief in God. He would gently say to his wife, "Don't worry baby, it will be alright." One scripture that fully embodies the life of Sydney is "Be not afraid, only believe." Mark 5:36. Another is "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23.Sydney was truly a gentleman, touching the lives of each and every one he came in contact with. Please know that ALL OF YOU were so special to him. Naming each and everyone of you, would be extraordinarily difficult and the list would be endless. Just know that all of you were significant to him and we thank you for welcoming him as your own.Special thanks to the following agencies and staff for the love and care given to him while under your care: The Stamford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and all of the caregivers from Daniel Care and Masonicare. To all the church families that interceded on my behalf, I love you with an everlasting love.A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016. Family will be receiving friends from 2:30pm-4:00pm and a service will take place at 4:00pm, at Leo P.
