Born in Kalavrita, Greece, Ted was the son of Katherine Poggi Halaki. He graduated from Hunter College, then worked as a Creative Director at Mcann-Erickson. He was also an accomplished writer of prose and poetry.
Ted enjoyed windsurfing and jogging, and will be remembered for his writing, character, intelligence, creativity and courage.
He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth of over 46 years, and is known for his marriage at the U.N. Chapel in Manhattan on July 8, 1978. He was predeceased by his mother and father.
