Vivian was born in 1931 in New York City, the daughter of Leonard and Elsie (Baker) Vanderpot. She graduated from Great Neck HS in Great Neck, NY.
Vivian will be remembered for having a wide circle of friends, a remarkably optimistic spirit, and a great sense of humor. She was genuinely happy- grateful for what life offered her. Her family had the privilege of hearing her say, many times, including in her final years “I had the most wonderful life.”
She thoroughly enjoyed working for 24 years at Putnam Trust in Riverside and volunteering for 34 years at the Rummage Room in Old Greenwich. She and her beloved husband of 64 years, Julian, most of all treasured their countless beach days at Todd’s Point. She was a member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Riverside and loved singing alto in the choir for over 36 years. Her family credits her with showing them how to care for and do thoughtful deeds for neighbors, friends, and anyone in need.
Above all else, Vivian was devoted to her family and friends.
Vivian is survived by son George W. Bodenheimer and wife Ann of New Canaan and daughter Susan B. Trumbo and husband Steve, of Cheshire, grandchildren Keith Trumbo, Will (Amanda) Trumbo , Nate Trumbo, Kate Bodenheimer (Rob) Simone, George (Sarah) Bodenheimer, Jr and James (Kristin) Bodenheimer. She also had six beautiful great-grandchildren: Rob, Claire and Charlie Simone, Elsie and Henny Trumbo and Grace Bodenheimer.
She was predeceased by her husband Julian Bodenheimer and sisters Helen V. White and Betti V. Reitan.
