Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y. to Frank J. and Jane E. Clark, the third of 5 children.
Received B.S. cum laude from University of Notre Dame and M.D. with Honors from NYU.
Served 3 years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and separated with the rank of Captain.
Dr. Clark practiced Internal Medicine for 36 years in Eastchester, N.Y.
He was a Past President of the Westchester County Medical Society and served on the Board of Governors of Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville, N.Y.
He served as Vice Speaker of the House of Delegates of the Medical Society of the State of New York and as a Delegate to the AMA. He was a member of the Westchester County Board of Health and served on the Board of Directors of the Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company of New York. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Association for Mentally Ill Children of Westchester.
After retiring, Dr. Clark moved to his home on Candlewood Isle where he and his family had enjoyed summer vacations for many years. He served as a volunteer In the Indian Health Service on several reservations throughout the southwest.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elsebeth, sisters Jane Grady and Mary Ellen Clark and brother Frank. He is survived by sister Helen Thiemann, husband Nicholas and their son Clark of Westport, CT, children William P. Clark, Jr., M.D. and his wife Janice Roman, M.D. of Virginia Beach, VA and their sons Michael and Jeffery, Andrea M. Clark of NYC, Monica M. Clark of Mount Vernon, NY, Louise M. Clark and her husband Lewis of Stamford, CT, Lori C. Houchen of Costa Mesa, CA, Ann Clark and husband William Ferrone and their daughters Katie and Megan of Eastchester, N.Y.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward of the Confessor Church 21 Brush Hill Rd. New Fairfield, CT, on Monday, March 31 at 10:30 am.
