Dr. William Bell Levine, 97, of Jupiter, FL, died peacefully on August 31, 2018. Born in Yazoo City, MS on February 4, 1921 to the late Sara and Isadore Levine, the family moved to Stamford, CT when Bill was four years old. He graduated from Stamford High School, and attended New York University. Upon graduation, he served in the US Army during World War II. After his tour of duty, he attended NYU School of Dentistry, graduating with High Honors, and practiced dentistry in Stamford for 40 years.
In 1950, he married Corrinne Dyckman. As the family grew, Bill was proud of his three children and took delight in his seven grandchildren and great grandson.
In addition to dentistry, Bill had a keen interest in real estate investing and was integral in helping to develop several neighborhoods in Stamford and New Canaan. He was passionate about sailing, and throughout his whole life, was a voracious reader and an avid gardener. His curious mind had him consistently delving into topics of history, science, and politics.
Bill was pre-deceased by his brother Benson, and is survived by his wife, Corrinne Levine of Jupiter, FL; sons Peter Levine (Shelley) of Stamford, CT and Robert Levine (Eva) of New Canaan, CT; and Lisa Hawley (Henry) of New Canaan, CT. He is also survived by seven grandchildren - Allie, Lindsay, Simon, Nicholas, Rebecca, David and Julia, as well as great grandson Benjamin. The family would like to thank Eula Palmer for years of friendship and care.
Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Smile Train at smiletrain.org.
