STANLEY - Beatrice Messer Putnam, 86, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 at The Robin Johnson House with her loving family by her side. She was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Dock and Linda Messer.
Mrs. Putnam retired from Peerless Spinning Company, Lowell after 30 years of services. She was a member of Community Pentecostal Center, Stanley. Mrs. Putnam was one of 12 siblings and her survivors included 5 generations.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Robin Johnson house for their love and care given to Mrs. Putnam.
Mrs. Putnam is survived by two sons, Billy Ray Putnam and wife Donna Lynn of Lowell, Roger Mark Putnam and wife Regina of Clover; daughter-in-law, Judy Putnam of Lyman, South Carolina; two sisters, Myrtle McEwen of Lowell, Obera Wilkinson of McAdenville; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Community Pentecostal Center, 320 Ralph Handsel Blvd., Stanley with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Eddie McGinnis officiating.
Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
Mrs. Putnam was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Warren Hardin Putnam, Sr.; one son, Warren Hardin “Gene” Putnam, Jr.; 9 brothers and sisters.
