Dietmar Frank Loscher was born October 25, 1952 in Goetzis, Austria. He passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022. Dietmar attended school in Goetzis from 1969-1974. He attended engineering college in Bregenz, Austria. Post-graduation he worked in Zurich, Switzerland and then London, England and then he travelled to North Carolina to work for Blum USA in sales.
He resided in Santa Monica, California and Kent, Washington before returning to work in the home office in North Carolina – where he has been for the past 17 years. Dietmar’s career with Blum was 42 years long. He only recently retired. He never entered a room without engaging with everyone. He was a fun loving person and he always made himself the brunt of his own jokes.
Dietmar was preceded in death by his mother, Marianne (Santer) Loscher and his father Alois Loscher.
Dietmar is survived by his loving wife Betty (Barksdale) Loscher and her three children Daphne, Lucas and Rosa DiLeo and ten grandchildren. His brother Gunther Loscher and his wife Andrea, niece Nina Tschanun-Service and nephews Christian and Fabian Loscher are also grieving his loss. Dietmar also held dear to his heart his stepmother Rosa Maria Amann and stepsister Judith Thomke and her husband Manfred.
A gathering celebrating Dietmar’s life will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on Monday April 18, 2022 at Carothers Funeral Home, 412 S. Main Street, Stanley. Light refreshments will be served.
A second celebration will be held in Austria at a later date when he is inurned with his mother and father. His remains will be returned to his Motherland, Austria, per his final wishes.
