

Edith Jenkins Moose, 85, of Stanley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late William Burch and Connie Odell Lee Jenkins.
Mrs. Moose was a graduate of Mt. Holly High School, where she was recently inducted into the Mt. Holly Hall of Fame for her basketball career where she was an All-State Champion at Mt. Holly High School in 1944-1945. She retired after many years of service as Receptionist for the Administration Office of Gaston County Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Holly.
Mrs. Moose is survived by three daughters, Debbie Pace, Donna Morris, Dawn Moose; one son, Mark Moose; grandchildren, Heather Williams, Brian Moose, Michelle Moose, Matthew Brown; great grandchildren, Zachary Pruitt, Peyton Pruitt, Isabel Moose, Brianna Moose; sister-in-law and long time friend, Evelyn “Charlie” Jenkins.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Carothers Funeral Home, Stanley with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Jarrett officiating.
Graveside services will be private for the family.

Mrs. Moose was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, William “Boyd” Moose; 4 brothers, Yates Jenkins, Ray Jenkins, Aaron Jenkins, Leroy Jenkins; 2 sisters, Garnell Trull, Elizabeth Duckworth.
