Grady Clifford McDonald

Grady Clifford McDonald, age 85, of Stanley, died Wednesday, May 05, 2010 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born in Cherokee County, North Carolina and was the son of the late Henry Harrison and Ora Lee Scroggins McDonald.

Mr. McDonald retired from R.C.G. Love and Flint-Groves Plant of Burlington Industries. He was a member of Stanley Church of God for over 50 years.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife of 63 years: Betty Baucom McDonald; one son: James McDonald of Stanley; one daughter: Wanda Cox of Stanley; four grandchildren: James Curtis McDonald and wife Lynne of Dallas, Jason Christopher McDonald and wife Holly of Gastonia, Robert Francis of Stanley, Michelle Francis Thomas of Liberty, South Carolina; ten great grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Thursday at Carothers Funeral Home, Stanley.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday at Stanley Church of God with the Rev. Michael Morgan officiating.

Interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly.

Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Lawton and Ray McDonald; four sisters: Vesta Stiles, Irene Dula, Lillian Ledford, Bonnie Decker.
