Ida Virginia Senger
October 19, 1932 – April 6, 2020
Ida Virginia (Vereen) Senger, 87, of Stanley passed away peacefully on Monday April 6, 2020 at the Ivy Nursing Home in Gastonia. Ida loved to travel. She took numerous trips to Europe. She especially enjoyed traveling with her family to Ireland. Ida loved cats and she was an avid reader. Professionally, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years after graduating from Central Piedmont College. In her youth she taught gymnastics and swimming.
Ida is the daughter of the late Maddie (Frier) and A.S. Vereen. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Senger and a daughter Virginia Ann Senger. Sisters Jeannette Dobbins and Christine Wolfe also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish the memories of their mother are her daughters – Donna Hilton and husband Gary of Mt. Holly and Sandra Buck and husband Kevin of Mt. Holly. Missing their grandmother are Austin Buck and wife Kari, Nolan Buck and wife Dara, and Cheyenne Brown and husband David, as well as four great-grandchildren.
She was loved by her family and she will be dearly missed. The family will have a private burial at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly.
