Carothers Funeral Home of Stanley is Katherine "Katie" Grace Brown, age 23, went to her Lord and Savior on Saturday ~ June 15, 2019 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Katie had a gentle spirit with a warrior like fight that she put everything into for her family and loved ones who meant the world to her. Her positive attitude was unmatched and all that met her knew they were in the presence of a true Angel on Earth.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Betty Greene and Elmer D. "Cub" Walker; paternal grandparents: Gail Trado and Bobby Perry Brown, Sr.; aunt Sherri Rogers.
Katie is survived by her parents: mother and stepfather: Tammy Walker Barrett and Jim of Denver, North Carolina; father: Bobby Perry Brown, Jr. of Lowell, North Carolina; brother and sister in law: Jeremy and Lindsay Walker of Matthews, North Carolina; nephew: Gavin Walker; grandfather Joel Rogers.
Also survived by her Aunts and Uncles: Donna and Tommy Earl, Danny and Marianna Walker, Terri and Paul Panter, Darlene Smith, and Elizabeth and Brian Biggerstaff. Cousins: Tiffany, Joseph, Jessica, Andrew, John, Dustin, Allyson, Jacob, Zach, Riley, Scarlett, Alex, Jayla, and Hendrix ~ all of whom Katie loved dearly.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the nursing staff with Bayada for their dedicated service to Katie throughout her life, especially most recently to Debbie, Trisha, Candy, Doris, Alexis, Diamond, Bailey, Lauren, Chelsea, and Angela. There have been many more that made an impact throughout Katie's life.
Another very special thanks to the dedicated doctors and nurses at Carolinas Medical Center and Levine's Children's Hospital for the countless hours spent taking care of Katie throughout her life.
The family will receive guests from 6:00 PM ~ 9:00 PM Tuesday ~ June 18, 2019 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park.
A short time of visitation prior to the Celebration of Life for Katie will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday with her memorial service to start at 2:00 PM ~ June 19, 2019 at Westport Baptist Church, 2372 Lakeshore Road, Denver, North Carolina 28037. Graveside and committal service will follow in the Trinity Garden at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.
