Katie Hannah Vandyke Fisher

Katie VanDyke Fisher age 78 of Stanley, died Wednesday November 24, 2010 at The Stanley Total Living Center. She was formerly of North Belmont, a native of Mecklenberg County, the daughter of the late John A. and Katie Ross VanDyke.

Ms. Fisher retired from Stanley Total Living Center and a member of Full Gospel Church in North Belmont.

She is survived by a daughter; Karen F. Hawkins and husband Oren of Gastonia, three sons; James E. Fisher and wife Rachel of Stanley, John A. Fisher and wife Lisa B. of Mt. Holly, Frank E. Fisher and wife Carolyn E. of Shelbyville, Tn.

Three sisters; Dicie Hyman of Stanley, Charlene Gilbert of Statesville, Brenda Russell of Fort Mill SC, brother; Kenneth VanDyke of Charlotte, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Ms. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Edward R. Fisher, Jr., four brothers; Fred, Paul, John and Robert VanDyke and a sister; Peggy Miller.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly with the Rev. Allen Foreman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM Saturday at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley prior to the service.
