Luther Farris Deason, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. Everyone who knew Luther, knows that he loved to rabbit hunt and fish. He was also known as a boxing fan. One of his other loves was to work in his garden growing vegetables and spending time in his landscaping and planting flowers and scrubs where his wife Brenda directed him where to plant them.. Luther worked at Rex 1 and 3 in Ranlo for over 40 years with no absences. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Those left to cherish Luther's memories and carry on his legacy is his daughter and her fiancé: Sandy Deason and James W. Richard of Stanley, North Carolina; his son and daughter in law: Danny and Joyce Deason of Alexis, North Carolina; one grandson: Joshua Hughes of Alexis, North Carolina; four sisters: Hazel Deason of Stanley, North Carolina, Margaret Hayes of Dallas, North Carolina, Wanda Spencer of Gastonia, North Carolina and Charmen Riley of Mount Ulla, North Carolina; one brother: Richard Deason of Stanley, North Carolina. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. And not to forget his grand dog: Pepper.
Luther was the son of the late James Richard Deason and Susie Taylor Deason. He was also preceded in death by his beloved and loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Summey Deason along with three sisters: Janie Lemmond, Louise Deason and Peggy McIntosh; one brother: Charles Deason.
Mr. Deason’s wishes were to be cremated and placed with his wife Brenda at a later date.
