A native of Tabor City, he was the son of the late Aren and Hazel Soles.
Mr. Soles was retired from JP Stevens.
Mr. Soles is survived by his wife, Rachel Soles; children, Berry Soles (Linda), Tammy Cagle (Mike), Jack Soles (Monica); sisters, Nancy Duncan (Sammy), Alice Blair; grandchildren, Melissa Nicole Hill, Kimberly Marie Rumfelt; great grandchildren, Alexis and Bailey Rumfelt and Ian Nichols.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Orren Coy Soles, Jr.; and 4 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at the Carothers Funeral Home Chapel in Stanley with Dr. Danny Penny officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
