Patsy (Crisp) Hovis

Patsy (Crisp) Hovis, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday July 7th, 2021. Patsy was a Gaston County native and a clerk at a local dry cleaner. She was a devoted wife. Patsy was married to her husband, Lamarr, for over 60 years. Lamarr says that she was the “best friend I ever had.” She will be dearly missed by many.

Patsy is the daughter of the late Louise (Price) and Bruce Crisp. She is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Crisp, sister-in-law Linda Brown Crisp and niece Sherry J. Crisp.

Left to cherish their memories of Patsy are her devoted husband, Lamarr Hovis and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews as well as other extended family members.

The Hovis family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday July 12th, 2021 at Carothers Funeral Home, 412 S. Main Street, Stanley.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday July 13, 2021 in the Veteran’s Garden of Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia. Reverend William Calvert will offer words of encouragement and hope to family and friends that gather to remember Patsy.

The family request, that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Patsy’s name to Spencer Mountain Baptist Church, 135 Lowell Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.
