He retired from Clariant Corporation after 34 years and worked in his son's shop, Fleet Maintenance & Repair thereafter.
Ralph was the definition of a spouse, father, pawpaw, and friend. He was hardworking and honest, always ready to help others in need. He took the most pride in his family! He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and looked forward to his annual trout fishing trips for over 30 years with friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his brothers, Raymond, Harvey and Dean Armes all of Dallas, NC.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Kathy Armes of the home; sons, Russell Armes and wife Amanda, Randy Armes and wife Michelle; daughter, Renee Armes and Jerron; nine grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Anthony, Kirsten, Hannah, Angel and Bella Armes, Cadence & Brynley Adams; two great grandchildren, Braylon and Saylor Armes; brother, Johnny Armes and his loyal dog, Buddy.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Brevard Hall at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley on Saturday, January 8, 2022. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Committal service will follow at Hillcrest Gardens.
