Ronnie graduated from Limestone University and worked for Duke Energy as a maintenance training instructor, retiring after 33 years. He had many passions in his life including Clemson Football, hunting, fishing, golf, and especially traveling. He loved to travel!
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Essie and Clyde Nix; granddaughter, Kristen Nix; sister-in-laws, Jane and Wendall Nix; brother-in-laws, Steve and Tony Brooks, Robert Brown and nephew, Alan Brown.
He is survived by the love of his entire life, his wife Phyllis Nix; sons, Gene and Khristy Nix of Denver and Jody Nix of Denver; grandchildren, Ronnie Nix III and Allison Wallace of Cramerton; Destin and Mia Nix of Spartanburg, SC and Logan Hartsell of Stanley; sister-in-law, Debra Garrett; brother-in-law, Jerry Garrett of Pickens, SC; brothers, Alton and Carolyn Nix of Easley, SC, Jerry Nix, Charles Nix and sister, Joyce Brown, all of Liberty, SC; along with numerous nephews, nieces and extended family.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Carothers Funeral Home Stanley, 412 S. Main Street, Stanley, NC 28164.
