“Everything was about family”

Sarah “Sally” (Martin) Lawrenz, 82, of Mt. Holly, NC and formerly of Rochester, NY passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday June 4, 2020. Sally is the daughter of the late Florence (Schulenburg) and Louis Martin. Two brothers and one sister precede her in death.

Sally retired from Kodak, working in quality control. She enjoyed making Afghans for family and friends. She loved to bake cookies and she was known for giving all her friends cookies at Christmas. Sally was totally devoted to her family. She knew her family’s favorite things and she would often cook for them special dishes. She never met a stranger and she loved to talk to children. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Left to cherish their memories of Sally are her husband of 64 years, Carl Lawrenz, Sr. and the couple’s three sons; Carl Lawrenz, Jr. (Kathie) of Brockport, NY, David Lawrenz (Bonnie) of Mt. Holly, NC and Garry Lawrenz (Annette) of Denver, CO. Sally leaves behind seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two brothers.

The family will have a private burial in their family plot in New York at a later date.

Condolences, prayers and thoughts are welcome, but the family requests no flowers. Online condolences and fond memories of Sally may be left at www.carothersfuneralhomestanley.com.
