Susan Marlene Sage

Susie was born on November 19, 1950, in Elmira, New York to the late Frank and Janet Stadelmaier. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Frankie Stadelmaier; brother-in-laws, Fred Cardone and Jake Haner; sister- in-laws, Julie Weber and her husband, Dr. Phil Weber, Gina Haner and Amy Sage.

Affectionately known as “Mama” by her children, Susan was a pillar of love and guidance. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially spending cherished time with her grandchildren and waking up early to work on her next crossword puzzle. Her sharp mind and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John Timothy Sage; her children, Mary Sage, John Sage Jr. (Bethany) and James Sage (Crystal); grandchildren, Jordan and Callie; brother, John Stadelmaier (Sharon); sisters, Penny Cardone and Lynne Piasecki; as well as her sister-in-law, Molly Sage Goodfriend (David).

A service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held at a later date in Elmira, NY.
