Her parents, Guiseppe and Angelina Bianco, immigrated from Avelino, Italy and raised 10 children in New Brighton, Staten Island. Adeline, at 98 years old, was the youngest of the 10 children. She so enjoyed recounting the stories of growing up with a large family and many, many extended family friends and wished that her own children and grandchildren could experience the neighborhood togetherness of days gone by that she enjoyed.
Adeline grew up with an unrealized dream of attending a fashion institute, but happily went on to marry her dear love Sylvio Runfola, on July 15, 1938, in Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania. We have lovingly been remembering Sylvio for the past 36 years. Adeline has missed him terribly but went on to enjoy the days and years with all of us 3 children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Adeline enjoyed family ties. Sewed dresses and coats for herself and daughter, Jacquie. Baked, cooked, loved flowers, everything floral, was a book lover and took pride in dressing beautifully. She worked as an administrative assistant with Irving Trust Company in Manhattan. Adeline enjoyed 3 fun filled trips to Italy with family and friends through the years, with thoughts of returning.
Adeline’s circle of children include daughter, Jacqueline O’Leary. Grandson, David and wife, Kim. Grandchildren, Jami and Ryan. Grandson, Bruce and wife, Constance. Granddaughter, Gabrielle and Fiance, Michael.
Son, Thomas Runfola and wife, Yvonne. Grandson, Monte and wife, Leslie. Great-Granddaughter, Sara and husband, Jarrod. Great-Grandson, Joshua and Great-Great Grandchild, Gabriel. Grandson, Thomas. and wife, Beth. Grandchildren, Emma and Tommy. Dearly Loved and recently deceased Granddaughter, Elizabeth (Beth).
Daughter, Pam Solli and husband, Marty. Grandson, Christopher and Partner, Mario. Granddaughter Jennifer and husband, Joseph. Great-Grandchildren, Molly and Charlotte. Granddaughter, Caitlin and husband, Dan. Granddaughter, Alyssa and husband, Keith. Great-Grandchild, Claire.
Heaven has a brand new Angel who has received her wings! We know our Dear Mother, best friend, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, aunt and friend will be with us each and every day. But wait a while. She is probably too busy loving Sylvio and Beth and reacquainting with her loved ones whom she has missed for so many, many years.
