Alfonse A. Acampora, 81 Beloved husband and father Alfonse A. Acampora, 81, died Sept. 3, 2016, at his home in Staten Island, N.Y. Born in Brooklyn, he earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. A research engineer for RCA Research Labs, Mr. Acampora helped develop communications for NASA, Space Mountain, and HDTV, retiring in 2002 after 43 years. He enjoyed music, singing, gardening, and was a member of the Italian Club of Staten Island Foundation. Mr. Acampora is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rosalie; children, Marie, Anne Matrone, Alice, and Anthony; and 10 grandchildren. Visitation is Wednesday and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Casey Funeral Home. Funeral is at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Church.
