

Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he received his medical degree from the University of Columbo, Columbo, Sri Lanka.
Dr. Satchi immigrated to the United States in 1971, moving to Maryland to pursue his specialty studies. He completed his residency at Maimonides Hospital, Brooklyn.
He began practicing at Staten Island University Hospital in 1976, and also was an anesthesiologist in Seaview Anesthesia Group, Ocean Breeze, until retiring in 2012.
Dr. Satchi most loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading and was a world traveler.
"He was warm and caring, and loving to everyone, friends and family as well as colleagues and patients," said his daughter, Darshini Satchi.
Surviving Dr. Satchi, along with his daughter, are his wife of 47 years, Srihari; his son, Dr. Mylan, and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, and there also will be a service at 9 a.m. Monday before cremation in Rosehill Crematory Chapel, Linden, N.J.
