Born in Greece, Papou was a fisherman whose love of the sea never left him. You could taste it in every bowl of his famous psaro soupa. A meal no one could ever make quite like him. His home was always filled with warmth, delicious food, and family.
Some of our favorite memories are the moments that only Papou could create. He would take us to the park in New Jersey and spin us on the tire swing, the only swing big enough for all four of us to be together. He would take us on long walks, stopping to buy bread so we could feed the ducks along the way. He had the funniest stories from his years as a painter, and he always knew how to make us laugh.
Then there was the mall with the beautiful carousel. It felt like a place that only existed when Papou took us there. We searched for it countless times on our own but could never figure out which mall it was. Somehow, it was one of those little pieces of magic that belonged only to him.
Above everything else, Papou loved his wife, Irene, his beloved "Bubi." Their love was unwavering and enduring, and anyone who knew them could see the deep devotion they shared. Together they built a beautiful family that became the center of his world.
He was a proud father to Marina, Jimmy, and Kosta, and an even prouder Papou to his six grandchildren: Andriana, Irene, Paraskeve, Anastasia, Nicholas, and Alexandra. Each of us was blessed to know his quiet strength, his generosity, and the way he showed love. Not through grand gestures, but through the meals he cooked, the traditions he shared, and the time he gave so freely.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in every family meal, every story told, and every memory we continue to share. We will miss his cooking, his stories, his gentle presence, and the love that made us all feel at home.
We love you, Papou. Thank you for every breakfast, every trip to the boardwalk, every bowl of soup, and every moment you gave us. You taught us the importance of family, kindness, and holding on to the traditions that connect us.

A Funeral Service will take place at Holy Trinity - St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1641 Richmond Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314, on August 7, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, Staten Island, NY 10306, on August 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
