

Born in Manhattan, he grew up in South Beach and remained a resident of that community.
He graduated from Curtis High School.
Mr. Giurato was a character actor and member of the Screen Actors Guild.
According to his family, he appeared in movies, "Network," "Marty" and "Serpico," under the stage name Andrew Gerado. He also appeared in the soap opera "The Edge of Night," they added.
He enjoyed acting and continued to hone his craft by appearing in many plays, touring the country.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and singing.
Mr. Giurato was close to his sister, Madelina Zappala, who died in 2013, family said.
He was a loving uncle to his many nieces, nephews, and extended family, they added.
He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, South Beach.
He served in the Coast Guard as a radioman 3rd class.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Virginia Funeral Chapels, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, South Beach. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Grasmere.
