Angela Monteleone, born on June 5, 1947 in Staten Island, New York, was sent to her eternal home, as she passed way on October 5, 2025 at Richmond University Medical Center, at the age of 78. She was the beloved daughter of Rita Ana Campanelli and Salvatore Peter Monteleone.
Angela, as she was affectionately known, was a great story teller of old family traditions and a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a Staten Island native and her journey on earth was marked by compassion, loving her family and her faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family.
Angela is survived by her children Unique Collins and El Shaikym Amazulu Bey and her two Granddaughters De’Anna Alston and Ja’Lisa Collins. She is preceded by her parents Rita and Salvatore Monteleone and her brother Peter Montel.
Angela was a graduate from Curtis High School. She was a College Graduate from Audrey Cohen in 2002 where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies. She was employed as a Phlebotomist for many years until she retired in 2009 from, St. Vincent’s Hospital, currently known as Richmond University Medical Center. She enjoyed nature, horses, painting, reading, and baking recipes. She also found joy in movies, collecting figurines and props, music and keeping an open mind in an ever changing world. Angela had also started writing a fiction fantasy book.
Although Angela’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her compassion, creativity and open mindedness in all that we do. As you continue to be guided in the house of the Most High and the magic of the Universe, dear Angela, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
