

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Angelina Pascarella, 92, a homemaker, of New Springville, a devoted mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, died Thursday in Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Castleton Corners.
Born Angelina Cicala in Manhattan's Little Italy, she lived in Bath Beach, Brooklyn, before moving to New Springville in 1975. She later lived in Midland Beach.
"She always put her family's needs in front of her own. She was kind, loving and tough." said her son, Alfred Jr.
Mrs. Pascarella loved to cook Italian dishes. She taught her children the importance of a close-knit family and often had parties in her back yard to help maintain that closeness.
She loved to cook Italian dishes and watch New York Mets games.
Mrs. Pascarella and her husband enjoyed traveling to Italy and listening to music and dancing together. A favorite singer was Dean Martin. She also enjoyed singing Italian songs with her grandson.
Her husband of 46 years, Alfred Sr., died in 1993.
Along with her son, Alfred Jr., surviving are her sons, Joseph and Anthony; her daughters, Vivian Amari, Annie Anderson and Linda Collyer; a brother, Steven Cicala; 17 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Clare's R.C. Church, both Great Kills. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
