Ann L. DALIAS-HARRIS
March 12, 1932 – January 7, 2020
Ann lived an independent and active life surrounded by family and friends. She was born in New York, NY on March 12, 1932 to Joseph and Antoinette Cupo. A graduate of Julia Richman High School in Manhattan, Ann became an early IBM keypunch operator and remained interested in technology throughout her life. She married the late Jerry Dalias at St. Lucy’s Church in 1954. Together they lived on Staten Island where they raised their two children, Donna Bernhardson and Robert J. Dalias. Ann worked as a teacher’s assistant at P.S. 31 on Staten Island while raising her children.
Ann is survived by her children, Donna and her husband Thomas, Robert and his wife Marianne, and four beautiful grandchildren: Kevin Dalias, Brian Dalias, Samantha Kehoe and her husband Shaun, and Jennifer Bernhardson. Ann also leaves behind an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family was her greatest passion and joy.
After twenty-four happy years with Jerry, Ann was remarried to the late Waldo Jerry Harris in 1981. They moved to Florida in 1995, where they enjoyed a very active social life with family and friends. Ann loved playing cards, visiting casinos, and just spending time with those she loved. She was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in West Palm Beach, FL, where she truly enjoyed being a member of the Columbiettes. As a Columbiette, Ann participated in numerous fundraisers and activities that benefitted a wide array of causes.
Holidays were very special to Ann. She greatly enjoyed cooking for her family and left behind a number of recipes and holiday traditions. Traveling and spending time with friends always put a smile on her face. She had a wonderful sense of humor, with a contagious smile and laugh.
Ann was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was fiercely loyal, wise, and kind; all were blessed to be part of her life. She will be greatly missed by all.
Ann is predeceased by her husbands, her parents, and two sisters, Francis Palmeri, and Josephine Doris.
