

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Longtime Dongan Hills resident Ann Pellegrinelli, 87, a retired insurance underwriter who was dedicated to her family, died Sunday in Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Egbertville.
Born and raised Ann Gregorio in Brooklyn, she moved to Dongan Hills in 1964.
Mrs. Pellegrinelli was primarily a homemaker, but went to work in 1978 after being widowed. She worked for 12 years in the underwriting department at General Accident Insurance in Manhattan, and retired in 1992.
Skilled at knitting, she made the christening outfits for her two grandsons. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.
She was a loving woman and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, they said.
Mrs. Pellegrinelli was an active parishioner of St. Ann's R.C. Church, Dongan Hills, where she was a member of the Golden Age Club.
John, her husband of 27 years, died in 1978.
Surviving are her daughters, Esther Pisano and Marie Catalano; her sister, Lucy Abbaticchio; three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
