Born in Flatbush Brooklyn to Francesco and Theresa DiPalma, Anthony dedicated his life to service, family, and friendship. A proud member of the New York City Police Department for 44 years, he was the city’s longest-serving uniformed officer at the time of his retirement — a testament to his commitment, integrity, and pride in his job.
After retiring as a lieutenant from the NYPD, Anthony continued to serve others through his work with Lieutenants Benevolent Association and the New York City Road Runners, bringing the same dedication, integrity, and good humor that defined his police career.
Beyond his incredible career, Anthony’s greatest joy was his family. He was the devoted husband of Robin (nee Goldstein) DiPalma, with whom he shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father to Samantha and Alexa, and the adoring “Pop Pop” of Benjamin and Hazel. He was also a cherished brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend to many.
Anthony found joy in the simple and special alike. He loved to golf, watch the Jets, and spend time at his home in Florida where he enjoyed fishing with his friends. He loved to play guitar and sing, especially with his cousin “Cuz.”
Anthony loved his life — and even more, he loved the people in it. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the deep love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
