

The lifelong Staten Islander was born in Stapleton. He also lived in Dongan Hills before settling in Castleton Corners in 1972.
A graduate of Curtis High School, Mr. Giarletta attended Wagner College, Grymes Hill.
He worked on Wall Street from 1965 until his retirement in 2001. Much of his career was spent at the former Bear Stearns investment bank, where he was a senior managing director.
Mr. Giarletta enjoyed football, traveling and playing cards.
He cherished his family.
"He loved his grandchildren so much," said his wife, the former Geraldine Greco. "He would do anything for them. He was a very kind man."
Mr. Giarletta was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners.
Surviving, along with Geraldine, his wife of 57 years, are his son, Paul; his daughter, Jodi Anne Klein; a sister, Roseann Labozetta; six grandsons, and a great-grandson.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10:45 a.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
