Anthony Albert Lenza, 72, of Todt Hill, Staten Island, N.Y., passed away on Nov. 18, 2016. He attended Curtis High School, St. Peter's University, New York Law School and NYU Graduate School, earning a B.A. in history, and J.D. and L.L.M. degrees. He served in the Army Reserve, practiced law for 13 years and was a self-employed real estate developer. He was a member of the Building Industry Association of New York City. Anthony, along with six fellow Curtis graduates, known as the "bridge men," were in the first car to cross the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in 1964, paying a 50-cent toll. The lights of the bridge gave Anthony inspiration to write this poem which was published in the New York Times article commemorating the opening of the bridge: "Out against the misty night. She spreads her eastward span. Like a Greek goddess. Beads clutched in her hand." Anthony was the loving husband of 46 years to Lucille and loving father to five children, Tobias, Anthony, Alexis, Arielle and Aaron; daughters-in-law, Josephine and Antoinette, and son-in-law, Anthony. He was the loving grandfather of Laura, Anthony Joseph, Josephine, Anthony Albert III, Dominick, and Alexander. Anthony will always be remembered for his work ethic, working seven days a week until his last day, and for enjoying a good meal and laugh with his family and friends. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Casey Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 21, at St. Teresa's Church at 10:45 a.m. followed by a burial ceremony at Moravian Cemetery
