

Longtime Castleton Corners resident Anthony Joseph Petrosino Sr., 77, a retired FDNY firefighter and accountant who was outgoing and devoted to his family, died Friday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
Mr. Petrosino was born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, where he graduated from Fort Hamilton High School.
He served in the U.S. Army, stationed stateside.
Mr. Petrosino settled in Castleton Corners in 1979.
His career was diverse. He first opened his own business in Brooklyn, selling fruit. He then became a city firefighter, retiring after 17 years from Ladder Co. 149 in Brooklyn. While a firefighter, he studied accounting and earned his bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College. He then opened his accounting firm in Brooklyn, which he operated for 25 years.
Active and sociable, Mr. Petrosino made friends easily and will be deeply missed by all who knew him, family said.
He enjoyed playing racquetball and golf and riding horseback. Mr. Petrosino also loved traveling with his wife, the former Joyce Scarcella, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Petrosino was a parishioner of St. Teresa's R.C. Church, Castleton Corners.
Surviving, along with Joyce, his wife of 53 years, are his sons, Anthony Jr., Salvatore and Michael; his daughter, Lisa Petrosino, and a grandson.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10:45 in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
