The lifelong Rosebank resident was born Antoinette Buono and went to school on the Island.
She was an excellent cook and loved to prepare dishes for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Beshai's dedication to her family was unparalled, they said.
She was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Rosebank.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Peter Sr.; her sons, Peter Jr., Robert and Ronald; her brother, Anthony Buono; her sister, Louise Kelly; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Virginia Funeral Chapels, Dongan Hills, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
