Avis Lepardo, 83, died on Sept. 24, 2016. A lifelong resident of Staten Island, her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. A retired cashier from OTB, she was a small business owner as well. She was a volunteer for SIUH and a tireless advocate for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. She was a member of the SI Chapter of the National Organization for Women. A doting mother and grandmother, she was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Amelia Gamble, and her sister, Dolores Kunowski. She is survived by her only brother, Charles D. Gamble, and five daughters, Ava Eller, Robin Snow, Lisa Williams, Allison Beyar, and Cyd Downing; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. She will be greatly missed and all who knew her would agree that Avis lived life to the fullest. Visitation hours are on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 80 Jerome Ave., Staten Island
