Barbara Ferrara

Barbara (Pinky) Ferrara (nee Pittius), 76 Lifelong Staten Islander Devoted wife, mother, and mom-mom Barbara entered into eternal peace at home on New Year's Day, surrounded by her loving family. Never to be forgotten by her husband, Ed, of 56 years. She was the loving mother to Lisa Wheeler (Russell), Edward and Michael (Tricia), cherished mom-mom to Lauren, Russell, Brittany, Sebastian, and Adrianna. She was the eldest of nine children and aunt to many nieces and nephews. A lifelong waitress, she worked at various locations including 20 years at the West Shore Inn. She enjoyed traveling to Wildwood Crest, Lake George, and spending time at her daughter's shore home in Cape May with family. She spent many winters in Florida. She enjoyed walking with friends, bowling, making homemade pizza, and going to the beach. She was an avid swimmer in her younger years. She embraced life and will be greatly missed. Viewing will be at Casey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament on Thursday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
