Barbara A. Jessup

Born Barbara Ann Tafuri in 1940, she moved from Dongan Hills to Elm Park in 1955, and to Westerleigh in 1965 before moving to Freehold in 2004.

Mrs. Jessup was predeceased by her husband of 37 years Thomas J. Jessup Jr. in 1999. She attended Port Richmond HS. She was a bookkeeper for Standard Brands Inc. in Manhattan and later a waitress at many Staten Island establishments, most notably the West Shore Inn in Travis.

She enjoyed cooking, watching classic movies and professional sports, especially football and golf. She was also a great story teller.

“She always had a smile on her face, and was always socializing and making those around her comfortable and laugh with her quick witty remarks”. Said her son in law Joey Musanti. Surviving are her son Thomas J. Jessup III (Kelly), a daughter Carolyn (Joey) Musanti and 2 grandchildren Vincent and Carina. Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, Sunday from 2-6pm and funeral Service Monday at 10:30am at the funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
