Barbara Scatuccio left us this week. At 96 years of age, she was the last of her generation of Scatuccios. A NYC gal, she spent her life in Brooklyn, NY and took the subway to “the city” every day to work as an executive secretary in the hospitality industry at the Roosevelt and Biltmore hotels.
The child of Sicilian immigrants, she was proud of her Italian heritage. Her mother was a dressmaker, her father worked construction on the great NYC skyscrapers including the Empire State Building. She took her nieces and nephews to countless Broadway shows, Radio City Music Hall extravaganzas, city tours and fun restaurants.
She loved to travel. She was devoted to her family - her brother Jim, sister Jean and their families. Sail on, Aunt Bobbie. Here’s to a life well lived!
