

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Barbara J. Uszacki, 72, of Eltingville, a college administrative assistant who was dedicated to her family, died Friday in the Staten Island University Hospital, in Ocean Breeze.
She was born Barbara J. Lempa in Bayonne, where she graduated from Holy Family Academy. She later graduated from the Katharine Gibbs School in Manhattan.
After she and Raymond Uszacki wed in 1961, the couple moved to Philadelphia, Pa. They settled in Eltingville in 1979.
Mrs. Uszacki had been working for 10 years as an administrative assistant at the Macaulay Honors College of the College of Staten Island, Willowbrook, and was working at the time of her death. Prior to that, she was an administrative assistant for 10 years for JAH-JEH Realty Co. Earlier, she had worked for six years as an adminstrative assistant at Standard Oil, Bayway, N.J.
Mrs. Uszacki was a member of District Council 37.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially going to their dance recitals, soccer games and band performances.
She and her husband, Raymond, were fond of trips to Atlantic City and also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Nova Scotia.
"She was a very giving and caring person. She was a woman of faith and devoted to her family and her friends. She will be missed by all," her husband said.
Mrs. Uszacki was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
Along with Raymond, her husband of 52 years, surviving are her sons, Raymond Jr. and Michael; her sister, Arlene Lukaszewski, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Clare's Church, both Great Kills. Arrangements include cremation
