Bernice McGowan (nee Wall) born in 1935 passed away on July 12. 2019. She was born and raised in Staten Island and lived in Stapleton and Concord. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond J. McGowan who died in 2003. She lived for over 50 years in her cherished home on Pleasant Valley Ave where she happily raised her 4 children. She was a wonderful mother, wife, dancer and life of every party. She took pride in sewing all holiday dresses for her daughters. She loved doing crossword puzzles and entered a Daily News contest in the 80's and won a new Jeep and made front page of the Daily News. All who knew her loved her. She will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Elizabeth Puma, Darlene McCarthy, Maureen McGowan and a son John McGowan. She loved her grandchildren Renee, Jillian, Kenny, Danny, Andrew, Kelly, Rebecca & Liz and her Great Grandchildren, Marley, James, Surreal and Oliver.
Wake will be held at Harmon Funeral Home on Monday 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Religious Service 11:30 am at Harmon Funeral Home. Interment Moravian Cemetery
