

Native Staten Island resident Betty J. Daly of Aberdeen, N.J., passed away on December 3, 2025. Born on March 13, 1947, and raised in Elm Park, Betty was the daughter of the late Arthur W. Carlson and Alice E. Carlson (nee MacConnell). A graduate of Port Richmond High School, Betty was employed as a Procurement Officer with the N.Y.C. Department of Education.
In 1970, Betty married Thomas F. Daly and took up residence in Westerleigh before settling in Elm Park, where they resided until 2010. Betty enjoyed spending time with family, her many lifelong friends and her beloved dogs. In her free time, Betty was an ardent reader, who enjoyed knitting, sewing, listening to music and participating in bowling leagues. An avid traveler, Betty visited 49 states, missing only North Dakota.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Patricia Rosenblum.
Betty is survived by son Thomas J. Daly, daughter, Patricia A. Davies, daughter in-law, Jennifer A. Daly (nee Nigro), son-in-law, Robert J. Davies, granddaughters, Alison, Emily, Katherine, and Lauren, and grandsons, Christian, Jonathan and Jack.
Betty also leaves behind her beloved sister, Barbara Mehnert, brother Arthur W. Carlson, countless nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, many of whom she had cherished since her days as a girl in Staten Island.
Friends and family may visit Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, on Thursday, December 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday, December 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 13 at Zion Lutheran Church, 505 Watchogue Road. Interment will follow at Moravian Cemetery.
