

Nursing Home. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Robert. She is also survived by
her children Anthony, Robert Jr. and Rita. Betty was mother-in-law to Elizabeth, Richard and
the late Theresa Marotta. Betty is survived by her seven grandchildren Dorene, Danny, Richie,
Robby, Bobby, Cheryl and Christopher. Also 9 great-grandchildren and many loving family
members and friends.
Her greatest accomplishments absolutely were her children. Parenting was a high part of her
identity. Betty was born in Meiers Corners and moved to Eltingville with her husband in 1961.
She graduated from Curtis High School and work in Manhattan at a brokerage firm. For 25
years she worked at I.S. 2 Midland Beach as a school aide.
Betty embraced her Italian Heritage. Her family was from Sicily. She loved to travel and some
of her favorite trips were to Italy and Hawaii. For many years she traveled with her husband to
many resorts in the Poconos and Catskills. She was known as Line Dancing Betty as she taught
line dancing and loved her 50's and 60's music.
Betty was an avid New York Yankee fan. Her favorite player was Derek Jeter. She loved
watching her grandchildren play basketball, cheerleading and motor cross.
Betty loved spending time with family and friends and did it with grace, dignity, and integrity.
Betty will be dearly missed by all.
A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Clare Church, 110 Nelson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10308. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309.
