

Born Carmela Iacono in Agrigento, Sicily, she was brought to Manhattan as a toddler. The family moved to West Brighton, where she lived for about 50 years, around 1940. Mrs. Lamberti settled in Jacksonville in 1990.
Skilled in sewing and crocheting, Mrs. Lamberti was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed baking desserts and cooking Italian dishes with a Sicilian twist, She enjoyed clothes shopping, and accessorizing outfits with elaborate costume jewelry. She found inspiration in the music of Jimmy Roselli.
She also enjoyed vacations in the Caribbean and South Seas.
"We never questioned our mother's unconditional love for her children," said her son, Joseph R. Lamberti.
Mrs. Lamberti's husband of 38 years, Ralph C. Lamberti, died in 1988.
In addition to her son, she is survived by a daughter, Alice Russo, and two sisters, Antionette Adinolfi and Anna Venturini.
The funeral will be Friday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, West Brighton. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
