

Born Carmen Caballero in Manhattan, she settled in Willowbrook in 1965.
Mrs. Kane graduated from the High School of Industrial Arts, and worked at a magazine for several years before she was married.
Throughout her years, she always loved maintaining her garden.
"She expressed her creativity in her garden. It was her pride and joy," said her daughter, Marguerite Kane.
Mrs. Kane also enjoyed music, dancing and playing poker with her sisters. She especially loved animals, and was often seen walking her two dogs in her neighborhood.
Her husband, James, died in 2004.
Surviving are her son, Frank Kane; her daughter, Marguerite Kane; two sisters, Elizabeth Barry and Olga Sheritan; one grandson, and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Arrangements include cremation.
