Carol DeLeo

Carol was born in Brooklyn, New York to Peter and Catherine Murray later moving to Staten Island with her beloved husband Joseph. Married nearly 60 years, they dedicated their lives to their family, and Joseph has stood by her side with love and care during her long medical journey.

Carol devoted her entire soul to her children, Eileen and Donna always there in times of crisis with love and support. There are no words for the depth of her love and passion for her grandchildren Jacqueline, Nicolette, Joseph, and Gabriella they were the light of her life and she, their’s.

Carol managed remarkably to do it all . She worked full-time for nearly 20 years at Staten Island University Hospital , but was always there for everyone whenever needed. She was a trusted sage , confidant and friend of the highest order. She was a proud and active parishioner of Holy Child Church in which she found beautiful support and comfort . She herself was beautiful both inside and out.

Carol had a special place in her heart for her sons-in-law, Louis and Billy and a deep love for our fur babies, Pebbles and Peanut, even they feel her loss.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Peter and her sister Eileen .

She is survived by her champion and loving husband Joseph ,and her children and their spouses( Eileen and Louis Gurgone, Donna and Billy Schneider )Her spirit will live on in her grandchildren, Jacqueline Gurgone and her husband Philip Kubie, Nicolette Gurgone and her partner Christopher Giordano, Joseph Schneider and his partner Bianca Massarotto and Gabriella Schneider and her partner Shiv Lal .

Friends and family may join us Sunday, July 13 at Casey McCallum-Rice funeral home from 3 to 7 PM.

A mass celebrating Carol‘s life is planned for Monday, July 14 at 11 AM at Holy Child Church. This will be followed immediately by committal service at 12:30 PM at Resurrection cemetery .

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lustgarten foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association.
