Miss Gay passed away Tuesday morning at her home in West Brighton, she was 62. Miss Gay, a lifelong Staten Islander, earned Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Special Education from Wagner College. She was a teacher at St. John’s Lutheran School for over 25 years. She dedicated her life to teaching. She loved her students and St. John’s Lutheran. Miss Gay was also an avid reader and traveler. She loved vacationing in Hawaii, California and Europe. She enjoyed the holidays and spending time with family. She enjoyed all sorts of puzzles and games. She was especially fond of her pets ... Lily, Willow and her dog Blue. Surviving is her sister Linda Cecil, her brother George Karlsson, nephews William and David Cecil, nieces Amelia Karlsson, Megan Karlsson Rossiter, and Sarah Karlsson Korobkin, grand- nieces Emily and Gabriella Cecil, Zoe and Jada Rossiter, Anna Peters, and Jessica Korobkin and grand-nephews Andrew, Dylan and Ryan Cecil. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Ave.
