Born and raised Catherine Trupia in Brooklyn, she moved to Eltingville in 1996.
Mrs. Rago enjoyed taking care of her husband and tending her home.
She was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
She will be remembered as warm, kind and friendly, and will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Nicholas Rago; her daughters, Deborah Zangara, Linda Fiore, and Barbara Casale; her sister, Marilyn Ficalora and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's R.C. Church, both in Great Kills. Burial will be in GreenWood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
