

Charles P. Dana passed away peacefully in his home with his daughter Jeannie holding his hand on Monday, October 28, 2024. He was a wonderful man that led an exemplary life. He is predeceased by his wife Valerie, and children Charles and Sharon. Charles is survived by his daughters Kathleen, Lorraine, Jeanette and JoAnne, his son-in-laws Mike, Tom, and Dave, and daughter in law Julie, grandchildren Erin, Patrick, Alison, Emily, Kevin, Christine, Victoria, Kate Lynn, James, and Cameron, and ten great-grandchildren. He loves them all.
He spent his early years in Midland Beach, later moving to Port Richmond and finally residing in Great Kills. Charles served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. As a sheet metal mechanic, he was a proud employee of the Brooklyn Navy Yard. When the Navy Yard closed, he began a new career as one of New York’s Finest, a police officer in the New York Housing Authority. He retired as a Deputy Inspector. He was a parishioner at St. Clare’s parish for over 50 years. He loved his New York Giants and his Los Angeles/Brooklyn Dodgers. He had unshakeable faith, loved his family, and prayed for his country.
