

Cheryl resided in Spring Hill, FL. from 2005 until 2024.
Further northbound, Cheryl was a proud Staten Islander; New York born and bred!
She and her husband Gregory, enjoyed their community and time spent with her in-laws and neighbors. She was extremely active with several family and community functions over the years.
Cheryl always enjoyed a host of sports activities in her youth. This included Cheerleading, Softball, Volleyball and Bowling. She also attended Basketball, Baseball and Football games as well as dances and concerts both on and off the Island.
Both Cheryl and Gregory enjoyed traveling to various places here in the states and abroad. Cheryl was very passionate about cooking and seeing those enjoy her meals and desserts. She also enjoyed dining out and enjoying a cocktail.
Cheryl has always been protective and passionate about her family and friends. She reveled in their happiness, growth and well-being and was a joy to all who knew her.
Cheryl enjoyed any and all celebrations, holidays, birthdays, graduations and every other occasion.
Everything that came directly from Cheryl was truly authentic and genuine. She will be solely missed by her family and friends.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Strachan; her son, Edward Laboard; her stepson, Gregson Strachan; her sister Jacqueline Van Dyke; her brothers Cecil and Reginald Van Dyke and her Aunt Beryl Yorke; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and God children.
A visitation for Cheryl will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Virginia Funeral Chapel, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314, followed by a visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
